Global Poverty & Political Advocacy: How You Can Make a Difference

Join May Thar, Ambassador for The Borgen Project, for a 20-minute information session exploring global poverty, international development and how ordinary people can use political advocacy to create change.

The session will introduce The Borgen Project, an organisation working to make global poverty a political priority and advocating for policies that improve the lives of people affected by poverty, conflict and humanitarian crises.

You will learn:

  • Why global poverty remains a major international issue
  • How political advocacy can influence government priorities
  • How individuals can contact and engage with their elected representatives
  • How you can take action and support campaigns against global poverty

There will also be an opportunity to learn more about getting involved with The Borgen Project, including volunteer roles such as Advocate and Youth Ambassador/Advocate.
