Online Fundraising Auction to Support Injured Young Woman

Have you heard about Gemma Potts? She’s a young woman from County Durham who’s faced unimaginable challenges following a serious spinal cord injury. To help raise the funds necessary to purchase specialist equipment and fund ongoing physiotherapy, the Gemma Potts Community are hosting a fantastic online auction from now until 10pm on 15th November 2024.

About Gemma

In June 2021, Gemma sustained a life-changing spinal injury at an equestrian event, leaving her unable to move from the neck down. At only 27 years of age at the time, Gemma’s life was changed in an instant. Gemma is a bright and intelligent young lady who was hard working and living life to the full. She studied for a degree in equine therapy and was a groom for event riders, a brand ambassador, and an experienced horse woman.

Despite facing such a devastating injury, Gemma’s unwavering positivity, spirit and sheer determination has shone brightly during the most difficult years of her life. To everyone who knows this remarkable young woman, she’s a true inspiration.

What’s the Fundraising Auction All About?

The Gemma Potts Community was created in early 2024 to raise enough funds to purchase specialist equipment Gemma will need in her life moving forwards and to fund 12 weeks at STEPS Rehabilitation Centre in Sheffield. 12 weeks here will cost an astonishing £114,000.

This fundraising auction is not just an event, it’s an opportunity for our community to lift up a young woman in her time of need. Together, we can support Gemma on her journey towards recovery and independence.
