Gather your family, don your finest knightly armor, sparkling princess gowns, or even dragon wings, and join us to celebrate the return of these mythical creatures. From storytelling to medieval re-enactments, crafts to puppetry, this event is a magical escape into folklore for visitors of all ages.
A Roaring Good Time Awaits With Spring in the air, we ask the big questions: where do dragons hide during winter? Whether they curl up on gold hoards deep in caves, rely on their fiery breath for warmth, or migrate to exotic lands, the answers might surprise you! Discover the fascinating world of dragons through enchanting tales and meet them up close. Get ready to create unforgettable dragon memories during this exciting family-friendly event.

- Dragon Storytelling & Puppetry: Hear captivating stories of North-East dragon folklore and meet stunning hand-crafted dragon puppets, including the awe-inspiring Lambton Worm—a three-person puppet that’s a sight to behold. - Crown and Mask Making with Crooked Halo Crafts: Are you destined to be a prince, princess, or dragon? Craft your own royal crown or a vibrant dragon mask to take home. (Small charges apply.)
- Mini Monster Making with Hippy Lizard: Create your very own felt mini monster companion! Whether stitched or glued, your tiny monster will be ready to join you on your adventures. (£3 per monster.)
Something for Everyone From medieval-themed woodcraft by FiftyEleven to delicious refreshments in the café, there’s plenty to enjoy throughout the afternoon. You’re welcome to bring a picnic and make the most of the castle’s charming grounds. Fancy dress is encouraged, so get into the spirit and bring the magic alive with your costumes.

- Parking: Free parking available outside the castle on the grass.
