An Art-Making Workshop in Honour of IWD

7 March @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

free art-making workshop, Contemporary Women Icons (food and refreshments included), will take place at Hatfield College on Friday 7 March at 1 pm in the Birley Room.

You are invited to create an icon (a sacred image) of a woman who inspires you. This could be a woman from your family, local community, friendship group, or a role model whom you admire in history or pop culture. The purpose of the workshop is to expand the visibility of women and minority groups in religious art – recognising that spiritual leadership and exceptionalness come in many forms and from different backgrounds.

Conceptual artist of Troiiica Art Group, Rita Ann, is travelling from Wales to lead the event, which is part of a larger AHRC-funded IAA project, Contemporary Women Icons, run by College Administrator, Zina Flint.

The event is open to people of all faiths and noneNo prior artistic experience is required.

The completed artworks will be displayed in the College Chapel during the International Women’s Day Evensong on Monday 10 March.

Spaces are limited – please register your interest by midday Tuesday 4 March at this link https://forms.office.com/e/qZ5ASQgst4
